Wow-what an adventure! I don't know about the kiddos but I was worn out just watching :)
Hi All! For the next few weeks we will be exploring the mind boggling world of Op Art and optical illusions. Students will research the op art movement and two of its most notable artists; they will create optical illusions and research how they work. Enjoy the brain tickle! On Tuesday, September 12 in the classroom we learned about M.C. Escher and recreated his art style of tessellations. We learned some tough Mystery Emoji fractions but our students are smart so we used teamwork and solved them together. We did Visual Literacy and put our minds to the test. It was quite an interesting but fun Tuesday in 6th grade GEP.
Savannah Today at GEP (Gifted Educational Program) we did drawings of tessellation and we learned about M.C Escher. M.C. Esher was the person who inspired us to do tessellation.
We also did some mystery fractions and thought we found a mistake but we almost instantly found that it was actually possible. Ruby and Blake Good Morning!
Well, its been a while since I've used this site to share all the news and happenings in my classroom! If you want to see what was going on several years ago at Fairhope Intermediate in the fourth and sixth grade Gifted class scroll down or up. I'm glad I found this site again and I will use it as in the past, so starting next week, each day I'll have two students post GT news and commentaries about what we are learning and how. Please try to view their postings and comment so they get authentic feedback. |
